Somehow, I feel this thread is being hijacked...
The lining is same throughout: sheep fleece like the collar. It's really quite nice on my B-3. Irvin is a good choice though! ELC direct is also better due to pricing, but expect up to four weeks for processing and then a few days for delivery.
Limited selection. However, there are a few neat items. Nice selection of madras shirts. I mean real madras--as in actual fabric. Not that trash that other vendors try to pawn off as madras, but more like Gant. So I ordered one. I'll let you know how it is on Monday.
Ok, I am testing temps around 50 to 53. I am wearing only undershirt and midweight flannel long sleeve shirt. It is warm, but bearable. Do not recommend for anything higher temp. 60 is way too hot.
Preface: I am a U.S. Marine. I am not an expert on B-3's, and this is my first.
Decent pics taken from my Droid. Not sure if the white edge in the material is authentic repro detailing or not. Looks unfinished, but I am not too worried. Note the density of the fleece.
And about the...
Just got my ELC, and it's an awesome piece. Perfect size. Breaking it in as we speak. Can't wait for the colder weather! I can post pics if anyone wants to see.
NO word yet...
So I ordered a B-3 from ELC and they haven't sent me a confirmation of shipping or anything. I tried calling, but haven't been able to reach anyone yet. I have sent several emails already. They haven't even charged my account yet. Anyone ever had this problem before?
Help for you?
Typically, if there are gunflaps, they will be on the left side or on both for women. This is because women's trenches are meant to be buttoned right over left as per custom. Check out Burberry...

I'll let you know...
I finally took the plunge and ordered the Eastman USAAF Type B-3 (the original one with the dark brown leather). I've read nothing but rave reviews about their Irvings, and I thought I'd see how they did on the American counterpart.
When it arrives, I'll be happy to post...
Just wondering...
I couldn't find anyone talking about the B-3. I think this is a fantastic American counterpart to the RAF Irvin. I'm torn between the Irvin and B-3, and can't decide which to get. I definitely like the notched lapels of the Irvin over the B-3's. I also find the belt in front...
Age and pulling it off...
Seriously? Age shouldn't be a problem. Not even seventeen. The trench is getting quite a bit of a revival. Check out Burberry (burberry.com) and take a look at the models wearing their new stock. You'll notice they're all quite young. I'm twenty-eight myself, and the...
How long did it take for the order to be shipped to you from the time of order?
And if anyone cares...
I'm getting Indy to make a replica coat. The Holmes Coat.
New Guy: Jeff
Name's Jeff. Stumbled upon the forum weeks ago as I was surfing the Internet looking for a replica shearling coat (the one worn by the U-Boat captain and Matthew McConnaughey in the movie U-571). From here, I ran into Magnoli Clothiers. I've commissioned another "replica" garment...
