    Interesting Our Daughters in Vintage

Yes, I think you're right. The dress I took in for her was a teen dress. She likes that style a little better than the super girly ones anyhow. I'll keep my eyes open for patterns, too!

    QM 2006 for the Ladies

I'm coming, with husband "Cabinetman", Nathan, and our daughter, Parker, who will be 9. She loves to wear vintage, too! She actually has more dresses than I do. We have her clothing for the weekend figured out, except for shoes. It is so hard to find shoes for girls that don't look like they...

    Plus Size Vintage

I saw one similar, but not quite as severe: Bust 40 (okay, doing good...) Waist 22 (oh, count me out...) Hips 38. Is it for Jessica Rabbit, perhaps?

    Interesting Our Daughters in Vintage

I didn't have trouble interesting my daughter in vintage--she saw what I was wearing and wanted to find dresses for herself as well. We also were on a cruise ship where the theme was vintage, so she got dresses for that. Now she has more dresses than I do! She will be nine next month, and...

    Do you tell?

So far, I haven't thought twice about telling my age. But, as I am exactly 1/3 a century old, it gets closer to that question of whether you tell or not. I've always thought it was classy to hear women not say their age either in real life or in movies---it leaves people wondering, and seeing...

1938 Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers Paper Dolls

I'm going to have to pull out an old Cary movie so I can refresh my fairytale image of him! I had no idea about his life experiences, but as Jitterbugdoll said, it is good we have the positive things to remember him by. (and swoon by when necessary!)

    1930's, 1940's Cosmopolitan Magazines

Yes, it is sad. Why can't fashion design celebrate our curves these days? But I guess these women in the 30's were coming out of a period where curves were flattened and women were more boyish looking with shorter hair. I saw a yearbook from 1931, and every single girl and teacher in the...

    Good Fashion News~

I agree it's time for a change! I've been looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, and everything I see looks like I should be hanging out on a corner. I've been looking for just the right vintage dress, and haven't found one to suit the occasion. (outdoor by a lake, June wedding) And...

    1930's, 1940's Cosmopolitan Magazines

I noticed that just now! :( I've looked through 3 of them, and not one single hair or makeup tip. Just stories, and ads. Lots and lots of laxative ads I noticed. But I am enjoying the pictures and styles of the era in the pictures shown.

    1930's, 1940's Cosmopolitan Magazines

last scan for today-- I would never have that helpless, hopeless feeling again if I had these suits! Has anyone ever worn a scarf with a suit cravat style like in this picture? I love it!

    1930's, 1940's Cosmopolitan Magazines

For Mother's Day I received a stack of 8 Cosmopolitans from the 30's and 40's! :) I thought about posting some images from them if you're all interested. Or, is this something you've done before? (I searched, but didn't see anything in old threads.) Just doing a quick scan through...

1938 Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers Paper Dolls

LOL!!!! My husband does a Cary Grant impersonation every now and then to keep me going! He says Cary could say anything he wanted--it was just the way he said it! You know, sort of like Sean Connery. I'm glad you are all enoying the paper dolls. I'm loving Ginger's suit with the cape...
