Hello all,
I am not sure if this is in the correct section, as it is not strictly print, so I apologize in advance, and Bartender, please move to the correct forum if not.
I have been turned on to an iPad app called "NYPL: Biblion". It's concerned with the 1939-40 world's fair in New York...
There is going to be a live broadcast of a village match today (Easter Monday) at www.twicket.info starting at 12:45pm uk time. Apparently it's a world first.
My fed IV got a good soaking on the way to work this evening. Its dry now, and does not look any the worse for it. Doesn't feel like it has shrunk either. Looks like it is going to get wet on the way home as well. This will be the first time it has got wet since it got it. :)
Cup of Tea song
This thread reminded me of a song from when I was growing up. I have not been able to find the actual tune, but here are the lyrics. Apologies for the length, but its quite funny. Found it - on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5XX9LX2es4
RIGHT SAID FRED (CUP OF TEA)...
Quiet cities...
Its nice how a decent sized city can have a hush come over it in the small hours of the night. Its that period between the bars closing, and the morning rush. If there were a light mist or fog in the air, it gives it the feel of the classic movies from the 40's and 50's.
The Big Sleep
I just watched "The Big Sleep" (1946) with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.
From IMDB:
"Private Detetive Philip Marlowe is hired by a rich family. Before the complex case is over, he's seen murder, blackmail, and what might be love".
Good story line, great pace too...
