Little late to the party here, but this year I hope to make more of my leisure time. Since moving home almost 5 years ago, I haven't sewn one complete item. I always find an excuse - housework, various qualifications, tired, not enough time etc. Well no more.
I'm also teaching a colleague how...
Perfect timing! My hair has just reached the odd and awful phase of growing out the pixie, and this is exactly the inspiration I needed. 1/2 inch longer on the sides and Ill have a super short bob :D
Thank you Stray cat :)
Oh deary me, you dont know the impact of that info hahaha. Twice a year we got to Northmpton for the Psychobilly weekender (Bedlam Breakout).
This now means saving up lots of extra pennies and buying shoes, and Mr being upset at how much Ill be spending on said shoes! :D At least I have until...
Can't agree more. All my tattoos apart from one was planned in great detail and then left to sit in the brain for 6months to a year. Mull it over, twiddle with the design, think some more.
The ones that I didnt plan so well arent my favourite. But they remind me that not everything needs to be...
This is true!! A box/packet of ten blades has lasted both myself and the manshape for about 6months ish. I dont shave often, once a month if I'm honest (and lazy lol). an he is a once or twice a week guy. But a pack of disposables (10) lasted us about a month. Looking on ebay for genuine blades...
Christmas decorations around this way started to go up in shopping centres and even peoples houses at the beginning of september!
That is irritating at best. No decorations until the 7th Decmeber at the earliest in this house! And no competing with any neighbours on who can get the most lights...
Hate to encourage, but I have 9 or 10 tattoos, only two can be seen if I am wearing a skirt or dress :) You have me thinking and planning my next tattoo now though....possibly incorpirating my first sewing machine (1921 singer)......the cogs are a turning in my brain now :D
Im not sure it relates fully to what you are looking for, and admittedly it is mainly from around 1917, but Witness2fashion posted something that could be of interest to you.

Swedish Hasbeens? I got a pair last summer, wore them twice and didnt notice the leather on the ankle strap had started to tear. (this is twice for maybe 30min a time, mainly sitting on a bus.) I only noticed this summer when I got them out of storage. Hasbeens refers me to the place I bought...
Amy Jeanne, I have to say you are fabulous :) those three dresses are amazing!! and yes Im a wee bit jealous right now lol. Think you just brought m out my sewing funk :)
When it comes to washing pads its really super easy! Heres a link to dealing with cloth pads if you dont like blood http://tamsinhopkins.wordpress.com/2014/05/17/dealing-with-cloth-pads-if-you-dont-like-blood/
Basically, when you take them off pop them in a wet bag, unzip the wet bag as washing...
I find I have the same problems with disposables too. Somehow I dont think the blades are as sharp or something just isnt right - with or without the balm/product stuff. Just makes me love my safety razor all the more :) Its working out cheaper for us that buying disposables. :)
Ive actually found that the descriptions of a minimum wardrobe brilliant. I love articles and bits and bobs like that, as I am currently putting together and making/sewing a wardrobe of vintage patterns, so any guidance is welcomed!
But this also means that on a tight budget, I know and can get...
Its the non hormonal one, because I am on the pill and cant deal with the no periods thing (especially when I have so many pretty pads to use and cups to try!!)
I was thinking paracetomol and ibuprofen (one for pain the other for swelling as it were) My OH would either pass out or not deal too...
Oh so its just initial uncomfortable-ness then everything else is pretty minor. The way the nurse went on about it it was going to be the worst pain ever, my periods after were going be niagra falls, my cramps would be awful. And there is me sat there thinking "well this cant be right"...
I warn you its very easy to become addicted to all the reusables! 35 cloth pads, a yuuki cup, ruby cup and a fleurecup - and Im still waiting on *ahem* about 15-18 more pads, and want to try out at least 4 other brands of cups :D :eusa_doh:
Sorry to hijack the thread but if you have an IUD how...
IUD/cup argument has actually been settled, you can use it as long as your GP/whoever fitted it cuts the strings shorter for you :)
The argument being that even with the suction from the cup it wouldnt pull the IUD through your cervix, that is unless you are doing something seriously wrong :D
