If your hair keeps a curl for a week(!) I really wouldn't risk another perm, home or pro. An air dried perm never looks like a pincurl set, it's just the base for a set to hold longer.- Fräulein U.

How to cut a 1930s bob
Actually this might just be a regular bob. I recently got a bob, chin length in the front, about 1" below the nape in the back, no layers. Depending on the setting pattern I can style it easily like the picture if I want to. From what I gathered 1930s haircuts aren't that different from 1920s...- Fräulein U.

I'm very late to this request, but you might want to check out this tutorial by Lisa Freemont Street. Of course if you have a very different length, cut or hair structure you can only get so close, even with the original set.- Fräulein U.

A question for those of you who own vintage service weight FF nylon stockings: Do they have (or need) reinforced heels that show, i.e. the cuban or havana style, at all? I currently wear Ergora 60 denier for every day. They're 100% polyamide but still stretch a little (probably crimped yarn)...- Fräulein U.

When did pearlescent (mica) nailpolish come into style? I just got myself a lovey golden rose shade (peachy pink with lots of golden shimmer) but I'm not sure it really works with my mostly 40s inspired style. Usually I wear non-perlescent reds, pinks and purples.- Fräulein U.

What is your setting lotion
I use Lottabody straight from the bottle on my baby fine hair. I apply three or four small dollops to pretty wet hair, concentrating on the ends and bang area. Then comb though and set. I went with the method that causes the least fuss and since it works I don't mess with it.- Fräulein U.

Soak-off-gel Manicures?
I love Shellac. I had been doing my own acrylic gel manicures for years, just to have my nails look tidy all the time. I never had them grow really long so the reinforcement aspect was kinda wasted. Lady Adventurers, Women of Mystery!
I don't ride bikes but I do ride horses occasionally and the helmets are quite similar. The best solution I found so far was to keep the hair pin curled with bobby pins and covered with a thin scarf. Wear helmet on top of that, then style upon arrival. No great ideas for the way home though ...- Fräulein U.

Dunno about Motions, but did you try Lottabody? It's available here: http://www.afro-cosmetic-shop.de/Firmen-A-Z/Lottabody I love that stuff. I have fine hair as well. I use very little, undiluted, working it with my hands through all of my towel dried hair, comb through and set.- Fräulein U.

Curly hair woes.
Have you tried roller setting your hair? You can use more tension with rollers than with pin curls to smooth out that kink. You'd probably need a hood dryer though for a wet set unless you can sleep in rollers or let it dry during the day.- Fräulein U.
