Hello again, after a very long time away!
I just graduated from high school, and I feel that it's time to find a somewhat more grown-up and classy perfume. I tried on Shalimar, but once I smelled it on me I realized that's my grandmother's signature scent and I'd feel strange wearing it...
So, once again it's heating up to an oppressive temperature here in central Florida (there is little transition from winter to summer here, really), and I'm left with a formidable collection of hats suitable for winter and formal occasions, but little in the way of light, summery fare . Are...
Though I am only in high school, I usually don't get "cute," surprisingly. I'm usually given "pretty" or "spiffy." Honestly, I prefer "spiffy"-- what a great word! Nonetheless, I really don't mind being called cute. I mean, I'm sixteen. I'm not exactly aiming for sexy.
So, next up on my agenda is to come to all your houses in a Nazi uniform, waving a cigarette in the air and singing a medley of Lady Gaga's greatest hits.
Up at five, take out pin curls, get dressed, first cup of tea, do hair and makeup, pack lunch and make breakfast, make sure everything is in book bag, off to school at 6:45, have breakfast and second cup of tea in the car.
Well, the song would be anything. It doesn't matter. He would be tall, lanky, bespectacled, quiet, and a bit nervous. I've never gone for dashing, suave kind of guys. Plus, a ginger, and wearing something simple, but well-tailored.

Well, I went on vacation and brought back a truckload of hats (for about six bucks each, if you can believe it)! Sorry for so many pictures-- do you mind if I break them up into individual posts?
First off, my Bavarian hat. I know Stassny is still around today, but I couldn't find anything...
I find that I'm the spitting image of Gary Cooper :p
Here's a better picture of my face, though it's my "Going to buy soap at the hardware store" look.
My great aunt has this gorgeous old piano in her basement that a lot of my family learned to play on. About 30 years ago, the sliding lid got stuck midway closed, but my uncle managed to finally fix it yesterday. Took him long enough!
Here's my go-to cake for the lunchbox, since it doesn't need to be iced. It's a (Betty Crocker-approved) wartime recipe, so it's not insanely sweet, either. Try to scout out Florida oranges; I find them to be more flavorful (Perhaps I'm a little biased, though!).
Sift together into a bowl:
