    Show us your SHOES !!!

You could cut your own insole out of a nice thick piece of cow hide or two and add those. It should absorb the size like a purchased insole would but also keep the appearance of the sandals with no issues.

Ed Hardy was a tattoo artist, that started custom painting on things including shoes. Now it is all prints, he has his own shoe line and you can see his tattoo art just about everywhere you go, cigarette lighter, caps, shirts. This is an 80's pair Raichle hiking boots that my wife hand painted.

I know that the whole Ed Hardy thing isnt alot of your styles but was very happy with how these turned out. Plus it was just a mean pair of boots to begin with

    Any exotic hide experts?

I have a pair of vintage Tony Lamas that I am pretty sure are whale, It took me forever to find someone that had any clue what kind of hide they were. I asked leather experts, exotic experts, went to the Dimlight board (cowboy boot board). and finally came to a boot maker that knew what it was...

Agreed that having the shoe to try on is the best but not usually realistic when talking about 30's and 40's shoes in your size. It is much more likely that you are going to find them online. That said I will rarely pick up a shoe without a size unless it is special and then I will have a...

I have measured enough shoes to tell you that measurements are less reliable then marked size. There are just too many factors. You can measure a foot to determine a shoe size but you can not reliably measure a shoe to determine foot size. The measurements for shoes of the same size are all over...

    Show us your SHOES !!!

Really? That is super odd. I almost never run across vintage shoes that are more then a half size off of their true marked size. And according to your sizing of them these are over a full size off. When I say nearly never I mean that less then 5% dont fit true to marked size and of that 5% less...

Kangaroo was so popular because it had all the smoothness of calf with all the strength of bull. What size are those? I have a customer looking for a pair just like those in a size 7 give or take.

I would take a better picture of that insole except I sold this pair about 2 years ago so this is all I have left of it.

    Doc Martens 1490 Boots

I see that they say that they are the exact same as the ones that rolled off in 1960, but has anyone ever seen a pair of this style that were made before the 1980's. Maybe it is because most were released in the UK and maybe it would be more plentiful there but still you would think they would...

    Doc Martens 1490 Boots

sorry I got so farr off track, just wanted to comment on the differences in vintage and modern Docs. I should say I am sure that there are some combat boots in their history since the military is where they got their start but I have never seen any.

    Doc Martens 1490 Boots

funny thing is the current look of Docs has only been around for the last 20 to 25 years. Docs from the 60s would look nothing like Docs fo today. Also might add it is very hard to find early 80s or older docs. they have been around forever but rarely do you see any that are not in the newer...
