Fedora Lounge Club Tie -Poll Added, Options on 1st Post.

great idea Indy! I'm totally on-board with this. Our Pipe band just got new ties to go with the waistcoats and they did a colour logo offset at the bottom along with the jaquard and they only cost us $50 USD. (qty 100) and you'll have to forgive me, but i'm married to an intellectual...

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

So, are you thinking about somethign that is more or less the Cartier Tank (but not a chinese counterfeit!) or somethign that is simply a "Tank" style? for the latter, there are hundereds of them, lots of true vintage tanks on the 'bay as well. a good solid vintage movement is far better...

    Restaurant style...

personally, i'd never wear a short-sleeved dress shirt by CHOICE. OUr pipe band (www.elliottbaypipeband.com) wears short-sleeved dress shirts and it drive me up the wall. Buttoned sleeves, tie....you'll not go wrong. The rest of the staff might think you're an elitist.....but what's wrong...

Need input on watch straps...which one do you like better.

i'd have to go with C. I have that strap in both brown and black, in two sizes. It's a classic and very period correct. If you can find one that uses tubes thru the holes, assuming you're using screws or spring bars, not soldered lugs, which requures a sewn-in or riveted strap.

Free Military family deployed overseas hat/lapel pins

:::sigh::: please feel free to remove ANY political commentary from this thread. I'd have thought that a thoughtful mature person would be able to seperate inflamatory political thoughts from a simple offer of appreciation. Apparently, i was wrong.

Free Military family deployed overseas hat/lapel pins

Hi folks, I stumbles across some "Military family deployed overseas" hat pins today at a loal antique store. (you know, the rectangular flag with the red star in the center and blue border...) They're about 6mm long by 4mm high, very small and discrete. perfect for hats ot lapels. they...

I purchased my first hat at Byrnie Utz!

Bernie's is at on Union, between 3rd and 4th ave. (downtown). It does NOT say Bernie Utz on the front, is says STETSON and BORSOLINO above the door. (It's on the north side of Union) Now, about the shop. Don't make the assumption that the Kids working in there don't know anything since...

    Rate My Look

. Nope, we need to see the shoes as well. Trouser break, shoe choice.... I must agree, the shirt is distracting. Solid colour, maybe a herringbone at the most. i HATE big-knotted ties, but learn all the different knots and use the one that fits your body-type the best. You're a slim...

    Comparison of Wax Cotton jackets

Ah, Filson. I can see their shops from my office window. They do, indeed, make exceptional products, however i'm not a fan of their wax-cloth coats. they just fit....."funny" on me. Maybe they're cut for tiny girly-sized men.lol i've got a couple of their wax-cloth bags from years...

    Comparison of Wax Cotton jackets

I've no experience with those brands, but i haev a couple waxed-cloth items from the Edinbugh Woolen Mill. The have no website, but they do have an outlet store in Gretna Green, in southern Scotland. they are top-drawer stuff, and not too obscenly expensive. (They have vests too) Just...

    On the Beat

I'm a former seattle bicylce officer. ( I left after the WTO riots.) It's very difficult to do that job in a city that truly hates it's police department. That being said, Most departments have abandoned the beat officer and have suffered for it. when i was a bicycle officer in the...

Old Havana is falling into ruins

i have some pictures on a harddrive somewhere, i'll dig them out. I went there, from Mexico, and toured some of the old cigar factories, Fonseca, Fuente, Macanudo, etc. While it is most definately a time capsule in many ways, i left feeling quite depressed. It's simply a manifestation of...

    Waldorf "Forentine"?

Hi Gents! (and ladies, of course) I'm the new owner of a vintage Waldorf straw boater, which is marked Florentine Milan, as shown below. It appears that it's never been worn, as it's still got the price tag tucked into the sweatband. ($13.95! can you belivce it? In my day......) Anyway...

    Wardrobe crisis!

Hiya Bubbles! Why not try a pair of the ever-so-popular cargo pants in khaki twill? They'd be durable enough, in most cases for a team building ropes course and would look vintage "enough" to not offend your anti-denim sensibilities. :) As far as actually doing stuff on the ropes course, I...
