Great headline. “Mysterious underwater anomaly resurfaces off Antarctica.”
A strange undersea marine creature? A ghost shipwreck? An Unidentified Submerged Object?

No. It was caused by a boring data...
Sacre blue!
Camembert is in existential danger because ( if I’m reading this correctly) the over-industrialization of the production process has virtually destroyed the natural bacterial diversity that the cheese needs to blossom.
The threats of nuclear war, climate change, and the upcoming...
Exactly! I almost said that I would even consider reading it again, but I know myself too well. I’m always looking for “ the next thing.” (Sort of like travel. Do you return to a favorite city or opt for undiscovered destinations?)
Well, I am retired now. I got into the habit of reading for a couple of hours after lunch, during the heat of the day. Then a quick dip in the pool followed by cocktails! :)
When I was contemplating reading this book, a friend said to me “There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who have read Anna Karenina, and those who have not. You definitely want to be in the former group.” Nonetheless, I hesitated. Was I really ready for 800+ pages about a fallen...
Great review of Ex-Wife. I especially liked hearing the confirmation that, no matter how the decades tic by, a lot of human behavior remains unchanged.
Watch the video in this link. This phenomenon certainly seems to support the extrasensory perception argument that minds can sometimes communicate in ways we don’t understand. Just another bit of data that suggests that, maybe, consciousness extends beyond what is in our skulls...
And then there is the mystery of the Honjō Masamune. It is a samurai sword that’s considered to be a national treasure. It was forged 700 years ago and passed down from shogun to shogun. Supposedly this sword could differentiate between those who were honorable and those who were ripe to get...

Brand new. Kona Blue proposal declassified.
Soooo… Just trying to decipher it. Apparently the Department of Homeland Security proposed the creation of a highly classified, limited access program that would give to congress the oversight of some pretty strange stuff. The proposal —not very...
Great movie reviews, fellas. Interesting reading! Glad I decided to poke in on the thread again. I had lost interest in the thread a long time ago when people were mostly discussing more modern films. Tip of the hat to you.
Here at the Fedora Lounge Adventure Speakeasy Klub (F.L.A.S.K.), we love a good historic sword that is purported to have magical powers. “joyeuse” the legendary sword of Charlemagne, is a prime example. What a great story...
You know you are getting old when…
you say “wow, that’s like magic” when you buy a new iPad and all you have to do is hold your phone near it and everything transfers to your new device with hardly any work at all. Magic!
(I can imagine all you youngsters rolling your eyes!)
“Compelling” photos of Nessie. What do you think?

Hoo boy. I imagine we will get an earful when the conversation turns to whaling in the 19th century.
