I have an old console piano in my house, and I'm endeavoring to learn a bit of boogie-woogie on it. I find youtube a large help.
I cannot by any means call myself a piano player, but I am wondering how many of them are amongst the ranks here?
Back in the 90s we were fortunate enough to have a revival of sorts in jump/swing music.
What were some of your favorite bands from this era?
Here are some of mine!
Talking graveyard shift-
I did some 3rd shift work when I was younger, now I am back to it, and loving it. Relatively little traffic, quiet in the office...
My sons are now older, 17 and 20, or this wouldn't be working out well (single dad)
Anyone else working late and loving it?
Something tells me there might be.
I took lessons a couple years ago, and I need to get back into the swing of it with my practice chanter, and eventually I want a nice set of my own pipes, to annoy the hell out of the neighbors with. :p
I've really been getting into this genre as of late, from the classics of Hammett and Chandler
to the more contemporary Lansdale and Lethem.
I'm always on the lookout for something new though. Any recos? Thanks
