So the manufacturer replied to me that he is sorry but it is hard to say whose "fault" it is. I agree with him that perhaps it's Tonak that makes hats slightly larger (all my other hats are from Tonak). He suggested geting the hat stretcher as well. However, I am still undecided which one should...
I already wrote to the manufacturer about the issue, I wonder what solution will he suggest. Sending the hat back is the last thing I want to do, but perhaps there won't be other way...
Thanks guys. It's a new hat. So it seems that I will have to get one of those hat jacks. Could you please link me some info about hat jacks and how to use them?
Also, I am a little confused about the expanding vs. shrinking thing. Most of sources say that the hats shrink a bit by time. If this...
Gentlemen, I have a hat size issue and would appreciate your opinion. I wear hats sized 56 and they fit perfectly to me. This is the hat I just got which I bought online, it should be size 56. The size label is correct, but I have strong feeling that the hat is one size too small.
First of all...
I see. Thanks for info. When I watched Goldfinger, for the whole film I thought Oddjob was wearing a top hat, only later I read somewhere it was a bowler. It is an interesting hybrid
Apparently, Hornskov decided to step back and won't rick a lawsuit. Even his website is down right now. Even though I believe one shouldn't give way to arrogance, I totally understand and respect Mr. and Mrs. Hornskov's decision. After all, they couldn't wished for a better publicity – I believe...
Exactly. And this should be challenged. In my opinion, the patent and trademark authority was fooled and the patent is invalid. However, not until the court says so – and I strongly believe it would say so. Let us see whether Hornskov steps back or will let Fouquet sue him. In the latter case, I...
First of all, he is called Hornskov. Secondly, I believe AbbaDatDeHat was talking about Fouquet. And thirdly, no, Hornskov does not need matches to sell the hats, but he has a really nice story to it. He inherited his grandfather's matchbox collection and connected it with hats. And, according...
There is one from today... I know it is perhaps "too much" - I don't like to show off, I like to dress well but not to be overdressed. However, this was taken at a rather formal occasion (national holiday celebration), so the only thing sticking out of my outfit was the hat. It was a risk and I...
On hot and sunny days like today I like to wear this seagrass porkpie. (Click to expand.)

So this is my rabbit fur felt bowler from Czech manufacturer Tonak. It is a new hat. I like that bowlers are still made today, even though very few people ever wear them.

I don't have courage to wear bowler with anything less than formal wear including a tie. Not that I have much courage to wear bowler with any wear. So far, I wore it twice in the public, but the reactions were very positive. I got a lot of nice looks and smiles (not ironic). Of course I was with...
What I meant was they are very rare, probably even more than top hats which could be sometimes seen on some weddings or so. I am glad there are some people who still wear them. However, I don't remember seeing someone wearing a bowler it in my lifetime (other than as a part of costume).
