    Edward Green

When I first came here a couple or few years ago I was barely sporting a couple pair of thrift store Chippewa boots, a brand that I was completely unaware of before finding them. During then pandemic I discovered a good many cobbler videos and have been obsessed further with footwear. My...

    My Chippewa Boots

I couldn't be happier. I got a pair of steel toe Blundstones at the same time, same price. I have a sale pending on those. And I had just spent plenty on a good pair second hand Blundstones the same morning.

    My Chippewa Boots

I was doing my usual thrift store treasure hunt one day last week when I stumbled upon these nice looking boots I never heard of before. Chippewa. Only slightly rough looking. The bootbrush worked wonders. For $19.99 each I figured it was a cheap gamble. On the left are size 9, right 9-1/2...

    Biltmore Senator (Canada)

Not sure anymore. I saw a google picture of the exact hat I had in my hand and now I can't find it again. Difficult to find history of hat makers? Seems clocks are almost the same way. Other hobbies and interests not so much.

I'll just leave it as is. After all, in about the last six month I've acquired five or six vintage or vintage quality felt hats so surely their are more to be had. This hat Ibhave now looks exactly like one image I found in a new-product ad for the same $120 or so on sale. Is this cheap??

As for trimming, I'm still referring to the Biltmore as shown. I don't know whether this hat is five days old, five weeks, months, years or five decades old.

Thanks for the replies, i have one hat here that is (too small) turned up all the way around but it's also the same width all the way around. Should I trim this hat? Generally I prefer a stingy brim.

    Biltmore Senator (Canada)

Newest of a few hats. The others are shown in another thread about asking questions. It hasn't proven to be very handy. Anyway, I see this hat is still made perhaps. It's different from the others I think in that the brim isn't the same width all the way around. I'd love it even more if the...

The way I see it, most people don't know you haven't worn that hat, those sunglasses, crazy boots... Me: plaid shirts, black leather jackets, jean jackets, jeans, Doc Martens of Converse Chucks. Its all good.

Ok. I'll give this a try. I need any information I can find regarding some hats; relative age, relative or perceived quality, what's it called? ... 1. Royal Stetson fedora (?) 2. Biltmore Cavalier fedora (?) 3. Bardsley Special (type?). I love this hat. 4. Smithbilt "Canadian Beaver". A family...
