Just saw i received a notification about this topic some time ago and as i have a nice brand new pair of 100th anniversary 1939 British Tan Wesco engineer boots ( 10,5D) for sale on the website , i thought they might interest someone as they were a very limited series made in 2018 ( as its...
thanks for your answer.
Yes , i had understood but it seems i missinderstood that when you wrote " they " , you were speaking about me and not about Langlitz and Lost world ! Lol
It is because it seems in English you can use they for plural ( meaning for several persons ) but also for a...
what do you mean by " They seem quite concerned with the quality of Vanson products these days " ?
When you say " They " , You mean Lost worlds and Langlitz are concerned with the quality of Vanson ?
Where did you read about that ?
You mean the reproduction of original 1940's one , named 613 ( which is in fact an original 618 but with stars ) , with no underarm footballs ( named 613S nowdays ) or the original 1940's perfecto ( which had no number style ) ?
618 is nearly the same except for the schott snapps instead...
It seems the 118 when first introduced in 1977 , had the same fit as the 618/613 but made with Cowhide instead of Steerhide and was later upgraded to a fuller fit in late 80's to 90's .
Underarm footballs appeared in mid 80's it seems.
Here is the link to Schott's forum where i found that and...
So , based on that , there was no 613 number style used before 618 as 613 number was created for the repro perfecto with original 1940's spec ( the one called 613S nowdays , without underarm footbals nor any bi swing back although the original did not have the stars ) but i am not sure if 618...
Yes i mixed both !
If i remember well , the early 1940's perfecto had no bi swing back ( nor any underarm football which appeared later but i don't remember when ) , isn't it ?
I have always read the Marlon Brando perfecto in the Wild ones was a true 50's Schott customised perfecto , with...
Yes thanks for your answer .
If i remember well i read somewhere the 118 was made in the 80's ( wikipedia specifies 1977 but specifies early 50's for the 618 whereas Schott story timeline specifies early 60.s for the 618 ) .
It seems ( based on Schott story timeline and wikipedia) that the...
The 613SH and 613S appeared in 2019 ?
I thought the 613 horsehide had been reintroduced a few years before that and S model introduced earlier than 2019 as well .
Originaly , the first model of them all , after the ones produced for Beck in 1928 and Harley as well i believe , was the 613...
About what was saying DAV , i certainly believe him for what he says about his jacket but for the other pictures i posted i really have a doubt for the Aeroleathers B3 picture i uploaded ( and the wool seems different as well , like what we are speaking about above ) , simply because the ones...
Yes, it barely froze or snowed in Paris either but i am thin and not liking cold weather ! Lol
Do you ride a motorbike ?
Cause for me , even if the weather is not under zero ° celsius , i would be freezing riding a motorbike without it in winter !
Maybe i did not express myself correctly ( sorry i am not a native English speaking , i am french ) but i said i believed what you were saying ( about your jacket ) , no problem with that , i was just saying how i see that with my own eyes ; no offense intended .
Or maybe i did not understood...
That is exactly what i was thinking ( and writing in my previous post while you were writing yours ) , or at least wondering about the more recent way the animals are bred and fed in leather production !
I hate it !
Many people say that leathers were better in the past and it became especialy...
@ DAV :
I believe you that it might have been desîgned like that if you say so but i see it as finish crackings due to rigidity of the leather .
For the Loose grain , It is like stretch marks on a human body but it happens more often on the animal belly where the skin stretches more and this is...
I am not a leather specialist but i learnt that from one working in leather production and i believe the picture i posted of the Aeroleather is showing loose grain ( and for sure the Schott B3 picture i uploaded shows loose grain cause i held it in my hand to verify how the above layer of skin...
You don't get cold weather in London ?
So it is a different London than what i think about ( although i only know London in September but it was already colder than in Paris ) ! Lol
Or i am more sensitive to cold weather than you ( that's possible indeed) ! Lol
Cause in Paris , i can tell you...
Here is also an Aeroleathers B3 i saw with loose grain ( third picture ) on the net , it is really not nice !
I would like to order some jackets from them as i can't find some already made in stores of the model i love but i really fear to get that sort of shit and would refuse such jacket ...
