Panama, I'm pretty familiar with the 34D being a Marine designation. I've got about 4 years worth tooling around in one. Semper Fi !

    Looking to buy a Fedora

Because I don't deal on ebay, thought I'd try here. looking for size 7-3/8. Would like at least a 2-1/2" brim. Other than that, I pretty open (of course price might be an issue). Yes, I'm watching the auction, but was hoping I might come up with more of a every day type hat here. Thanks.

You think I should sell a few?

Well, if you come across something in 7-3/8 that might want to make a move to south central Ohio give me a shout. You may very well lay claim to being the provider of my "First" if you decide you might want to sell and I can afford. Now, hows that for incentive?

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

Retro, Thanks for the info and the link. That was pretty nice seeing the Philco info. I guess I have to find someone who has experience in old time capacitors? That radio sat in my Dads basement for at least 25 years after they moved, I was extremely suprised when I got it home and plugged it in.

    Nicky New Guy

Thanks for the welcomes folks. As far as the first one, who knows what it will be. Theres a heck of alot more to this Fedora deal to get figured out. But, maybe I won't try and just see what happens. If it's a winner I can chaulk it up to beginners luck, if not, it's just a beginner not knowing...

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

Checked for the model number of the Philco, it's a 48-1263 code 121. If anyone knows the history of this model like if it's a bargin basement model or what, pass it on, it would be interesting. Thanks

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

I've got my Dad's old Philco. It's a console type radio with a door that pulls out to get to the record player. I'll get the model number tonight and list it. I remember the family sitting around the Philco before we got a tv. The radio still works, takes about 5-10 to warm up and away she...

    Question for Moderators

Well Handlebar, your Dad and I have something in common, although I never crewed for a president. Say Hi to him for me. HMM-363, RVN 67-68.

    Question for Moderators

A Sikorsky to be exact. Handlebar, how did you know that? I'm in hopes that all the 7-3/8" ers will be all hatted up or at least have a little mercy and let this "hatless" person into the club. Sounds like a plan to me, what do you think?

    Question for Moderators

To continue, when I measured, it showed 23" spot on. So, from the charts I've looked at the majority show that as 7-3/8". Are there any rules of thumb that I should be aware of other than how the hat actually fits, such as certain mfg's run alittle one way or the other as far as size is concerned?

    Question for Moderators

I think, 7-3/8 regular oval. Now, is that good or bad sizewise?

GWD, Are you saying that hats are like firewood, you can never have to much or to many?
