Update to my previous concern about hat cords, I've been looking at tons of reference images of the late 1890s and it turns out, most campaign hats were worn without. So I think I'll be doing the same, at least until I feel like changing up my style a bit. -

Just ordered a Spanish American War campaign hat from Dirty Bill's and can't wait for it to arrive in a few weeks. Unlike my Stetson, which has a chinstrap to hold down the acorns and hat cords, how does one keep hat cords on a campaign hat without a chinstrap? -
