Questions About the United States Navy Peacoat

Gents: In the Navy, when a First Class Petty Officer "puts on Anchors", i.e., is promoted to Chief Petty Officer, he/she is authorized to wear a bridgecoat. Additionally, he/she may also convert his/her peacoat to a reefer by removing the crow (the petty officer's insignia on the left arm of...

    Capes/Cloaks

FWIW, the South American countries are also the most "Europeanized" as well. I'm not surpised to see their El Commandante's fancy capes and cloaks. :D I agree, say what you want about their politics, but they look good.

    Capes/Cloaks

For those who aren't bent on having a "military" model boat cloak, I've seen this website before as well... http://www.cloaksofireland.com/Opera1.htm Pricy, but as far as I can see, high quality.

    Capes/Cloaks

Well the officer I bought it from only wore it like 4-5 times. I've worn mine to a Holiday Ball and a Marine Corps Ball (as outerwear for my evening/dinner dress uniform). While I don't think I could get away wearing w/ a business suit ala FDR, I'd have no problem wearing w/ a tux or to the...

    Valkyrie

Anyone seen Valkyrie? Took the Mrs to see "Valkyrie" last weekend... Valkyrie Movie Trailer While I've never been a Cruise fan, they did a pretty darn good job of not only making it accurate as far as the sets/casting went, they also told the story pretty well. Anyone else see and/or...

    U.S. Army considers new uniforms

Actually, it took me only about a month or so to locate one. I bought my cloak from a retired O5/JAG who had only worn his like 4-5 times since he had it tailor-made in 1972 (the year I was born). lol Keep your eyes out and be persistant and you'll find one...and most importantly save $300...
