Received it very quickly!
Placed my order (anyway) for an Akubra Planter based on all the responses I received following my inquiry here.
I ordered it from HatsDirect, and they had it in stock, shipped it directly, and it arrived in yesterday's mail.
This is truly a hat for all-around summer...
Hello all;
Would anyone have any photos and info on an Akubra Planter? Especially the crown height, and overall fit. I know the bound brim is about three inches. I'm looking for a good outdoor straw for the summer, one that would be very versatile for work and recreation. Any thoughts?
Thanks...
In a world where civility has become scarce, it is always refreshing to check in at the Fedora Lounge just to realize folks are still kind and rational. Members like Colby Jack always made new members feel right at home. I never knew him, except to read his posts, but he was helpful in ways he...
I've seen this one...
...but the photos aren't really clear or bright enough to make a determination.
The straight on angle is good, but some from the side would be better.
Also some feed back from the wearers / hat owners would be helpful.
The "cool cats" looked like they were down with...
I know a post was entered in another thread, but I don't recollect it ever getting any response.
Does anyone have an Akubra Rap hat? I'm thinking of purchasing a porkpie-style hat and I really, really, like the Akubra line of quality goods. I've contacted HatsDirect for additional info...
Nice, St. Ignatz!
That is the nicest bash that I've seen on a CD. Now it makes me want to get one! For my look, I try to stay away from the taller crowns. I prefer the look of a "Stockman" or a "Banjo Paterson", with the shorter crown and smaller brim. Your bash on the silver CD is most...
Yup, it's The Hattery next door to the cafe. If you look closely, you can see part of an Akubra logo in the upper left corner of the left window. It's partially obscured by another sign, but definitely an Akubra logo.
Not sure if anyone is aware, but for HatsDirect / Akubra fans, it's pretty cool to see where your order is being sent from. Go to Google Maps and type in the HatsDirect address in Katoomba, Australia, then look for the Street View.
Australia looks beautiful...
FFF, I'm going to try to take some pics with in the next day or two, as soon as it dries out here. I do love the BP. Some FL members have remarkied about the feel of the felt, and now I understand after holding it myself. It has a more "luxurious" feel than my other Akubras. It must be the...
I ordered my Akubra Banjo Paterson from HatsDirect, and received the order five days later, on the East Coast of the US. It was the first time that I had ordered from them. I usually use David Morgan, but wanted to try HatsDirect this time because of the feedback from the Lounge members. I am...
You Mean EA Disappointment...
Akubra hats are the best! And worth a wait. However, Everything Australia was the disappointment. They should have followed up on the order status!
Hold out for that Capricorn.
Akubra Stockman
Alex, welcome to the FL! I currently own an Akubra Stockman, and without a doubt, it is the best hat I've ever owned and worn. I have just ordered an Angler from David Morgan (for my boating/fishing adventures) and a Banjo Paterson (from HatsDirect). I can't wait to get them...
Akubra Banjo Paterson vs. Stockman
The Banjo Paterson and Stockman hats look very similar, and are extremely close in size. Are they the same hat but with the Stockman's brim slightly curled up on the sides? Other than the Stockman having chin-strap eyelets, they appear to be identical. Does...
Akubra Hats
...are the best hats made! Though this forum is immense, I have read a thread somewhere here that the Akubra hats will shrink SLIGHTLY to fit your head. I have the Stockman, which was my correct size 58cm, and I too had to fill with foam around the sides. After a period of wear...
New Boy Cap with Flaps?
Does anyone have a source for a News Boy cap with ear flaps? I have a nice Hannah eight-quarter cap and a Borsalino cap, but neither have ear flaps for cold winter use. You see them in films often enough, but I've never been able to purchase one. Any help?
Thanks!
