If you said you looked like one celebrity from the Golden Era...

it is very easy for people to dismiss very good looking fellas like Flynn as merely "pretty boys" ... but i think Mr. Flynn certainly proved his worth throughout his varied career! Mr, Flynn will always be in! ;)

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

yes, well ... the difference ... unfortunate as it is ... is that Summer didn't loveTom. As wonderful as he is, she simply didn't love him. She did, however, love the man she married. Such is life. i know, i know, it's quite unfair and irrational. But I do not think it is "unrealistic" in...

Agreed, C-Dot, about loving "everything Jean Harlow wore." Jean's my gal, and she still sets the bar (in my humble opinion) for '30s glam. This isn't her most glamarous outfit, but it's my favorite-- it positively SCREAMS 1934! :)

hmmm .... probably ANYTHING featured in the Popular Science movie shorts ... but my favorite? this probably doesn't fall under "electronics," but here it is nonetheless: The Ice Box. I just moved into a 1930s-era apartment and it still has the old icebox in the kitchen ... and I am...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I also THOROUGHLY loved (500) Days of Summer-- I thought it to be one of the most realistic relationships I've seen on screen in a very, very long time. And I absolutely LOVED that it was a film set in LA without even ONCE referencing Hollywood!! FINALLY, a film set in LA that depicted the LA...

good ol' fletch... listening to fletcher henderson's Hocus Pocus from 1934. Can I just say that this particular track is, in every way imaginable, irresistible -- particularly with a Highball in a dimly lit, late afternoon apartment?

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

GENIUS FILM, a day at the races! It has what is probably my favorite marx brothers line ever: "That's in every contract, it's a sanity clause!" And then: "You can't fool me, there AIN'T no Sanity Clause!"

What was the last TV show you watched?

Going Hollywood Watched TCM's Marion Davies marathon. Definitely a treat to see King Vidor's "Show People" and "The Patsy," and then this fun little piece of early 30s fluff-- "Going Hollywood." Boy oh boy did Bing ever croon in that one!!
