UFC 299: O’Malley vs Vera 2 preliminary fights and more Columbo. Although I am not a big fan of the styles of the 1970s, I do enjoy the early episodes of Columbo much more so than the Columbo of the 1990s and early 2000s. Better stories and acting and in some ways, better styles (probably a...
Early in my short lived off and on career in construction, I was taught the proper way to coil extension cords so as they would not become knotted up and would still be easily undone. I was pretty happy to share that knowledge with anyone who had an extension cord twenty feet or more in length.

Last week, the mother of one of my students came out to the school and made us tacos. They were magical! She kept making them and we kept eating them until we slipped into food comas. It was a wonderful day!

Stumbled across Columbo on the Great American Family channel during Christmas break. I remember it from my childhood but as an adult I find it to be much better. Smartly done; I really like it. I have spent most of this weekend watching it or at least having it in the background.

Black Angel (1946) on TCM’s Noir Alley right now. Despite its less than glowing reviews, I figured that since it was an adaptation of a Cornell Woolrich novel, I would give it a chance. It was okay for the most part. It felt flat. Peter Lorre as the shady nightclub owner was the only...
Cry Terror from 1958 on TCM’s Noir Alley. A cast starring Angie Dickinson, Rod Steiger, James Mason, Jack Klugman, and Inger Stevens ( as well as some other familiar face) sounds like a can’t miss flick, but nope. It wasn’t that the actors were bad, it was more that it lacked the oomph one...
I have noticed it in a number of films although I did not see it, but I could have missed it. It was worth a look even if I had found the movie to be boring.

Abandoned (1949) on TCM’s Noir Alley. Snappy dialogue with an entertaining story and a nice cast. As per usual, I am attracted to the visuals of the world of Los Angeles during this time. This was a fun movie just for the cinematography.

Tortellini in a marinara sauce with garlic bread and a dinner salad as well as a Grey Goosed fruity type of drink. All in all, I was pretty darn content.

Movie theater popcorn. We haven’t been to a movie theater to watch a movie in years, but we do go probably once a month just to buy a huge bag of their popcorn.

Mirage on TCM. First time viewing. It kind of felt like it was inspired by North by Northwest. A nice cast starring Gregory Peck, Diane Baker, George Kennedy, and Walter Matthau. It was worth the watch. New York City circa 1965 was pretty cool to see and made it much more fun to watch.
