Stetson top hat for white tie events, galas, embassy dinners, the Queen’s box at the Royal Ascot, etc. I don’t know how I managed before I found this hat!

Black Borsalino homburg for black tie and when dressing to impress. I find gray homburgs easier to wear, but the austere formality of a black homburg is irreplaceable in certain situations:

Brown Borsalino lords hat. A bit dressy, and bit frivolous, and perfect for those visits to one of your many country estates:

This should be a gray fedora with black ribbon, but I’m feeling reckless and went with a Knox Twenty in green. The wider ribbon and felted edge give it a dressier feel while the color adds an informal element that fits my lifestyle better:

Phoenix custom in granite with a wider more city ribbon and bound edge.

VS custom. Less formal in color and appointments including a splash of color in the bow keeper.

Cobalt blue Gannon in nutria. The three inch brim and color give it a wide application with the wide ribbon:

Gannon sage nutria with 3 1/2” wide brim. This is my idea of what a dress western hat should be:

Another nutria Gannon with 4” brim measured before the curl. This is a more western western (to my way of thinking). The color is natural and it was inspired by a pre-War Stetson No. 1.

1970s-1990s Resistol 4X Beaver. I have similar hats in several colors and these are the hats I reach for most often as they are rugged, have 3 1/2 to 4” brims for sun protection, and fit my outdoors activities from hunting, fishing, hiking, etc.

That’s me. And none of it was tongue-in-cheek.

Some spectacular hats, Brent! The Knox and VS are my favorites but they are clearly all top shelf.
