Does anybody have an Akubra adventurer? Is similar to the Federation?

Since it only went on sale this morning, nobody has one yet. It's supposed to be similar to the Federation, but their last Federation-like hat was too close to the Federation and had to be pulled. Not sure what differences they had to acquiese to in order to be able to sell this new one, though.

I understood that the Explorer was pulled due to a name conflict with another hat manufacturer, which confused me.

I didn't understand why a company would pull a hat because it was named the same as a hat by another company, and then re-release it under a name that they have already used previously on one of their own hats.

It just seems to be ripe for confusion, because the Akubra Adventurer that David Morgan now sells is completely different from the Akubra Adventurer Rick Blaine and others purchased a few months back.

I mean, it's not as if there aren't tons of different words that could have been used instead. Pioneer, Venturer, Wanderer, Pathfinder... [huh]

It wasn't a name conflict that caused it to be pulled - the spec's were too close to the Federation which Hatsdirect had some sort of exclusivity agreement with Akubra over.

Well I still want to hear more about this new Adventurer that DM has to offer...Last night I was trying to check between Akubra's hats on their website up against DM's site. I was wondering which hats were being used for what. It looks like the Bushman on DM is probably kin to the Campdraft?[huh] ...Couldn't find anything that looked like the old Adventurer...or what they are using for the new one either. Just thoughts that keep me up at night...Yes...I have it bad....
