an Image Search Engine

I stumbled upon this site the other day:

http://tineye.com/

It's called Tin Eye and it's an image search engine and it's free. You can install it as a "browser helper" into Internet Explorer. If you then right-click on an image and then click on tineye, it will search the internet for that specific image. It yields a list of sites that have that image. And so you can click on that site for more infomation.

Note that this does not search for images "kind-of-like" like your subject image. It searches for the exact same image. Although that image can be cropped, or if your image turns out to be cropped, it may find the un-cropped image.

Tin Eye is not Google, so they haven't trolled for every image on the web as of yet.

It's an interesting tool to play around with.

Cool. Just the other day I was thinking it wouldn't be that hard to do software that recognizes the particular code of an image, so I imagine. And it seemed like it would be a good idea. Someone beat me to it I guess.
