Do Avirex contract numbers mean anything relevant on their A-2 non-repro's? Is it emulating an actual old contract number or is it just an internal thing.

When you say "non-repro" are you speaking of their current issue USAF jackets? If so, yes...each number on the tag means something.

If an issue A-2 the NSN will start with 8415-**-**x-**xx the 8415 indicates clothing issue, I think it narrows it to flight clothing also. The ** is either a 00 or 01. The **x indicates that it is an A-2. The last four **xx indicate the size of the A2
