Bannermans 1907 catologue

I found this in my stack of books. I had forgotten all about it. It is an interesting catologue chock full of hats, uniforms,military accutrements of all kinds and of course lots of weapons and ordinence.

What's amazing is that Bannermans was selling surplus Civil War Federal uniforms and equipment well into the 1920s! Stuff that today is beyond rare.

HarpPlayerGene, They no longer in business. Bannerman's Island had a catostophic fire that basically blew up the entire stucture which was a type of castle. I used to play on that island when I was a kid. There is only a shell of a building now.

Vladimir, not only Civil War but also Spanish American War surplus and all sorts of ordinance. Flipping through the pages of this catologue is a history lesson.

My dad had a copy of the Bannerman's catalog when I was young.
I used to go through the catalog and make note of all the cool stuff I wanted. Boomerangs, swords, clubs, spears, etc., etc. Imagine the utter disappointment of a young boy to find out the stuff was not available for purchase!

I don't remember when they went out of business, but I have a picture of a price list where a confederate belt plate went for five dollars. Today they are around $3500.

Exactly, apparently many Civil War uniform historians even use the catalogs as a visual reference.
