Somewhat germane to the topic of baseball history; about fifteen years ago my brother and his family took my mom to a Cubs game. Imagine the shock, when about the fifth inning when she announced that the last time she was at a pro baseball game (Red Sox) there were no African American players. She was in high school at the time, in the early 1940s. My, how things have changed for the better. We get her out more often, now!
