Cold hard facts from the man himself!

Ok, just got off the phone with George “W” (his friends call him “W” don’t ya know), and he confirmed my suspicions. The staff have looked into this all before. It would have been made public but the former Texas prez “Johnson” thought it was a matter of national security and that as he put it; “the commies” would exploit it, so this information was never before reveled.
The official white house stance is that yes, the pointer and shorter the boots in both the tops and the heels are more formal, as taller being more of a working anti-snake bite option. It also has to do with the stitching patterns, row count and thread color on the embroidery, somewhat akin to brougeing on oxfords, on the sides, less being more formal. Patent boots (actually eel skins) are normally only worn to full-blown State dinners and or when the queen visits, as she is particularly fond of them.
In addition, the pants legs should not be tucked in during formal or semi formal dinners, but may be tucked in for formal dances. Spur’s are also not allowed unless they are in a tasteful platinum or white gold, and the rowels have been blunted and fixed to prevent jingle jangling and marring of floors. (Fashion forward types have been experimenting with black nickel plating)
No you may not wear brown boots and hats with morning wear as everyone knows that only white hats (actually silver belly) are allowed as the you are supposed to project a good guy image, and as for the boots, no brown in the city. For casual wear, you could wear your gray or black jeans with brown boots and hats as that would go together, but that would be for country summer wear, such as dinner at the ranch. Your gray hat can be worn with your black boots but only before 6:00 pm (18:00 hrs) with your formal morning kit and caboodle, but not at all with semi-formal as that would be a faux pas.
Our conversation was interrupted with an emergency, but I think I got most of the answers to your questions before he had to go.

P.S. the above message will self destruct in 5 min, due to its tongue in cheek nature.;)
