Has any of you seen that bright Blue Borsalino on OFAS? I'm trying to figure out if it's Vintage or not. I see somebody asked the seller if it's new, but they said they really didn't know how old it was. [huh] I don't know if that's even the true color or not, but the hat looks to be in mint condition, that's why I'm thinking maybe it's a newer Borso. Maybe somebody can take a peek? :rolleyes:

You can't tell unless you can get a look at the inside. But from the angle of the pic, it kinda resembles the new Borsalino's, possibly the Como model.

Well they run over $200 new, they are a decent NEW Borsalino, but as been said here many times, the new ones don't measure up to the old ones. Some members here have the Como and love it. But again, I'm not sure it is, if you could get the seller to describe the inside, the color of the sweatband, and any names on the sweatband, it would tell you more.

Why not just ask the seller to send a couple of pictures of the interior. He could send them to your personal email? No reason they can't accomodate you.

Borso Quality

Of course the current Borsalino is not what it was 40 years ago, but that is sort of like crying over spilled milk. It is Today and it is not so easy to find that perfect vintage example.

As an owner of many new Borsos, IMHO the best two models made today are the Allesandria and the Como (or Como II if you prefer a bigger brim).

The new hats excel in the quality of the sweat band, and the beautiful colors. These boys still dye up a beautiful looking body.

There is no way one can compare a current Borsalino to something that Art Fawcett or Mark Kitter could create but to compare them with ANYTHING else out there such as Stetson, Camptown, Akubra, and many others and they shine.

I don't think I have to tell you that our own sponsor, Bencraft Hats has the best selection and the lowest prices.

I've been eyeing the Como II or the Giorgio as my (one day) first Borsolino...and of course from Bencraft.
Do you know anything about the Giorgio?
Thanks

For what it is worth, I have one of the new Como models and I really like it. It is a dark brown and, even though I am now into the Art Fawcett hats, my Como gets its turn at being worn. It is very soft and plyable and will take a different bash if you want it to.:)

CJ;

I would think you would prefer a Como II as the taper of the Giorgio is a bit too extreme. The ratio of brim to crown on the Giorgio has never caught my eye as a hat an enthusiast would like to own.
