I found this gem a few months ago and to my suprise, it was found under the Christmas tree!
It has a label inside that reads
Made for:
H.J. Blake Esq.
Feb. 1937
Its a great fit and I will be sad when the warmer weather shows up.
The jacket itself is made of a very heavy weight wool. It's really thick and probably weighs close to 7 or 8 pounds. The armholes are really small which gives me great mobility while wearing it. Especially when matched with a suit of similar cut. Wearing it with a modern suit or sport coat is difficult. As you can feel the smaller armholes squeezing the larger armholes of the coat, which creates alot less motion, and a fit that isn't quite right.
