Clothes Brush, what to get and where?

As some of you may know, the weather in the eastern half of the U.S. has been particularly cold and snowy the past few weeks. Today as I was getting out of my car, I brushed against an over-sized pickup truck parked mostly in the adjacent parking space, covered in winter road grime. I got a smear of white dust on my navy blue wool topcoat.

While I have got it off, it got me to thinking what sort of brush should I have for these contingencies? What brand names? Where to buy one (or do I need one for light clothes and another for dark, as I have for hats)?

I've bought a couple of vintage ones lately, with mixed results: One I like very much, the other I would like if it didn't consistently shed bristles.

smooth and fine on one side for everyday stuff and stiff on the other for times just as you explained. Should run around $20

I found that Kent's do seem to be highly recommend and they are not inexpensive, but you can buy from their e-bay shop where they sell slightly blemished (but still very good) brushes at deep discounts:
