Comemorative thread dedicated to Derek Harris, owner of Lewis Leathers

I'm very sad to learn about the passing of Derek Harris, owner and rejuvenator of mythic brand Lewis Leathers.​

I thought this man deserves a dedicated place to evoque and share memories and the brand he worked on reviving, successfully.

I had the chance to meet him , and spend some time talking to him and Saaya, his wife.​

"Sometimes incredible things happen, call it magic, call it Karma, call it coincidence…​

In 2022, scrolling on my Instagram feed, I saw that Guitar Wolf (legendary Japanese punk rock band) was playing live in a theatre near my place! Rare opportunity to see this band.​

So I decided to go, took my bike and rode the 40km to the place.​

Making my way to the bar, I ran into … Derek Harris (mister Lewis Leathers) and his lovely Wife Saaya!​

Here in this same concert bar!​

Putting my shyness aside, I decided to go have a chat with them.​

I spent a delicious time talking about many things with those two sweet people and enjoyed the concert with them, as well as a couple of beers."​

He was friendly, kind, and curious to hear my stories and eager to talk about his passion and future plans for Lewis Leathers.

Very sad to hear this news last night. A big loss in the Leather Jacket world. RIP Derek .

Can´t believe this. Way before his time!

RIP, Harris. I learned that he was the second owner of LL and very passionate about the heritage of leather jackets. I wonder what is going to happen to LL from now on.
