I've never bought anything from Del but I very much appreciate the way he shares w/out appearing to be a shill for his own business or any other. I had read many of his posts here over the recent couple three years and never even realized he had a leather shop until sometime in the last 90 days or so. Very inobtrusive, curiously knowledgeable and shares without expectation. Conversely, Guy Fieri is a vapid *ss clown. I don't see the similarity.

Im perfectly fine with that. As i said, the guy has never done anything wrong, just like guy fieri. Guy does his shows about different eateries and just gives his input much like delbert. Like you, i had no idea guy had his own chain, but the personality just grates me.

I have only seen a few of Dud’s offerings with Vanson but I don’t follow his IG or other social media outlets as I don’t see how I could possibly benefit from the service he provides. To me it seems similar to Thurston Bros model and provides a hand holding experience, but nothing that one can’t acquire on their own potentially and presumably without an up charge from a middleman. It kind of astounds me middle men services in this hobby can still carry on. But I suppose there must be a market for it.

It is a bit odd to see someone who came here a few years ago, essentially clueless, attempt to monetize a hobby they had no experience in prior to his membership here. But hey if this is what he wants to do as a career then more power to him. It can’t be an easy path.

I'll not participate and I realize you've already picked a lane however, this is about a seemingly nice guy that has contributed on this site to the benefit of a number of posters. I actually peg my pricing to be cheaper than if you buy the materials yourself and get Vanson to make it for you.

Taking the C2 for example:

$799 base cost + $60 sleeve alteration + $25 delete center back seam - $80 supplying own leather +$736 Cognac Badalassi hides +$18 Sevenberry lining = $1558

The price for a C2 in Cognac Badalassi through my shop is $1495.

Not a huge discount I know. But certainly not an up charge.

There are probably very few people in the world that have as much as experience buying jackets as longtime forum regulars. So yes I am able to help folks get the size they want, even if I’ve only been a member since 2020.

As for paying folks, or offering discounts, or free stuff etc for good reviews or whatever…absolutely not c’mon.

Nothing odd about following a passion enthusiastically. I mean. This whole forum has people going down the rabbit hole to different levels. Several members have started making jackets, I think that’s great! I don’t see how it’s so wild to follow the course I did, even though it’s not something most people will decide to do.

You look specifically for instances where you think someone either won't or can't defend themselves and you pounce in a way you think others will assume is actual content. No doubt the women and children in your orbit are thrilled.

There are a number of gentle souls on this board that would be prime targets for narcissistic and antisocial posters and there are a few here that are willing to stand up for others when a keyboard bully wanders up. 18000 posts and the best you can offer is character assassination to sate your need for admiration.
