East Coastin' in the City of Angels

I'm going to be in Pasadena this week, so I hope to hang out in L.A. next weekend. Where can I go to for East Coast/Jitterbug?

I want to visit the famed Derby...but is it impossible to get in?

You have to be at least 21 years old to get into The Derby. Other than that, it should be quite easy. The Derby is not nearly as crowded as it used to be in the late 1990s ... unless a really big name swing band (like Royal Crown Revue) plays there, and this rarely happens anymore.

Sunday nights are swing nights at The Derby. The shows begin around 8:30pm.

So is it just a pop nightclub the rest of the time? That would be a crying shame.


Any good swing spots for a Thursday/Friday/Saturday night?
