I got this one today as well.
It's marked as a 7-1/4, but has shrunk up to about a 7, so I can't wear it.
oh well.

It's got a coarser weave than the Adam. The sweatband is the real old style kind where the leather is folded over itself on the back half for about an eith of an inch.
and that's quite the bow on the ribbon there, isn't it.
What would you date this thing as? I'm guessing '20's? maybe?

Is the straw stiff on this one? It looks as if it may be painted.

THe straw is a little stiff, though I guess that could be due to age.
I think it may be painted, or at least coated insomething. I wonder if this is the patented essman process.

.

The have seen one with the long tailed ribbon, so to speak, that was from the 20s, and although I am no authority on dating, I would presume this one is the same.

Very fine hat. I do love the Optimo style.
