Experience stitching a ****** pocket into an N-1 Deck Jacket

Hello friends!

I’m looking at picking up a coveted Buzz Rickson N-1. I love everything about this jacket, minus the pretty inconvenient number of pockets.

does anyone have experience stitching in an internal ****** pocket here? Any tips on how to work around the piling? Any concerns about messing with the shape and integrity of the jacket?

An easy way to add pockets to a N-1 deck jacket is to sew in a patch pocket along the inside bottom hem area. Just sew right thru the pile liner; I usually put one on each side for additional storage.
