Please stop me before I do something drastic. I bought a beautiful fair isle sweater off EBAY:

As I feared, it's too big for me. What can I say - at that price it was worth a shot!

OK, so before I "full/semi-felt" it in hot water, would anyone like to offer a trade? I'm a size 38 chest and would ideally like to trade for something similar in a size that's conveniently too :small: for you!

It doesn't fit!

Still, after months of trolling around for a real fair isle sweater, I had to buy it. I mean, it was hand knitted on Fair Isle and sold through the co-op that gives weavers fair trade wages. It's soft, beautiful, and warm. In short, everything is perfect except the size...

You could try washing it and then gently tumble drying it. That might shrink it (if it doesn't damage it!)
