Big Ears

In the case of a man with big ears it is recommended to wear a hat with a wide brim to help cover up his ears. It's suggested to wear as wide of a brim as his face and figure can stand so the ears look smaller by contrast. Fairly flat set brim, particularly at the back, so that brim doesn't roll up and silhouette the ears. A brim that is snapped fully is also helpful, and a crown that is not too tapered. Avoid the homburg and up-turned brim, also a narrow brim and a tapered crown.

But seriously, these are reasonable ideas, but just guidelines, as some posters have said in the brim width poll thread.
