Harvested some peas and broad beans (we call those "Favas". Those are very appreciated in Portugal)

PRETTY GARDEN. The favas are appreciated in Italy as well. Along w some bread and wine.

The lemon tree is always full of lemons, all of them with a lot of juice.

Went downtown to the theater district yesterday to see a wonderful dance performance in a historical venue built in 1927.

They certainly don't build movie houses like this any more.
This one, the Lyric, is across the street from the Alabama, and is currently under restoration.

I remember back about 30 years ago, a hoodoo shop was located in this building. It is now down the block a little in a very low key, nondescript store front.

They are the maker and distributor of Sonny Boy products, oils, incenses, candles, etc. And have been in the hoodoo business since the 30s. Trouble with a lover? Need luck gambling? This is the place to get you a sure enough mojo hand.

The Carver, here, is around the corner, and has been converted into sort of a jazz hall of fame. They still have concerts and show films once in a blue moon.

Don's here is next door to the Alabama, and really makes me want to grow a head of hair just so I can go here for a cut.

And one last interesting shot

If you can see the Eiffel tower looking structure on top of the building in the distance, that is what's left of a zeppelin port. Back in the early 30s, the Thomas Jefferson hotel (it says Leer Tower on the side now) had an airship dock and a fancy lobby on the top floor. That was, of course, the latest in luxury travel at the time, until the Hindenburg disaster.
