The second shots show that it looks like an excellent fit overall minus the untucked shirt. Fantastic jacket. Sleeves are slightly short, but I think it looks fine. My sleeves are too long and I don't mind them either.

Cheers gents, and thanks for the previous sizing advice @ProteinNerd , solidified my choice for a 44 rather than 42 (would’ve been brutal!).

I’m well aware of your hatred for the untucked ;) . Was just illustrating length , rest assured it’ll be tucked unless it’s a tee from here on!

I haven't tucked in a shirt since 1985 so don't feel you have to. :D

IMHO some shirts look better tucked in others don’t.

Casual shirts I think they look fine untucked, just a matter of personal preference.

Also a tucked in shirt gives away a much more formal vibe that is not always desirable.

  6. Untucked casual shirts don't bother me unless hanging below a jacket bottom as some kind of style then they appear exceedingly sloppy to me.

Don't worry about the 1" in the chest. And don't worry about the sleeve length. Just enjoy it.

For what it's worth, I don't tend to tuck in unless I'm wearing a jacket. If I am wearing a jacket and the shirt falls below it I'd always tuck in.

Part of it is just that it's really hard to judge the fit of a jacket with an untucked shirt, especially when the jacket is zipped. Of course I think it doesn't look good, but in this context, I'm only saying it in terms of being able to judge the fit.

I stopped trucking in my shirt after I had my colon removed. I wear a stoma pouch that creates a bulge at my abs. One time in a 7-11 I was asked if I was packing a gun. So style, be dammed I wear my shirt outside my pants for all the honest world to see.

  12. No one was criticizing anyone for wearing a shirt untucked because of a physical disability. Just that it certainly is difficult if not impossible in some cases to determine if a jacket fits in length with the shirttail hanging below the jacket. Also appears much neater tucked or not sticking out below the jacket.

I am not disabled, going on 70 I race a 17' sailboat that requires hiking out to balance, hard on the abs, I ride a Ducati Multistrada at going to jail speeds in the mountains, I work the foredeck on my 40' keel sailboat on San Francisco Bay in 20 knot winds and I walk my retriever 2 miles a day along the marshlands wearing a leather jacket weather permitting with my shirt untucked and always wearing a fedora or western hat

Your jacket looks good. I agree the sleeves look a bit short on you compared to how I like my jacket sleeves to fit, but with you built shorted fitting sleeves may be common with stock sized jackets

Nicely put. I'm heading towards 55. I run 20 feet to catch my morning bus. Sometimes I reverse park my Honda Civic without hitting the guy behind me. I sit at a desk for hours at a stretch wondering what the weather is like outside whilst drinking coffee after coffee. I think my prostate needs medical attention. I like the look of an untucked shirt.
