I have decided to let this one go, which was a tough decision because I am pretty sure there won't be another one knocking about in the future.
The jacket is a repro of the classic by Peter's of San Francisco, made by Ralph Lauren as a sample jacket. The guy I bought it from got it from a Ralph Lauren store in the 90s, along with a couple of other sample jackets. He thinks this one did not go into production for retail sales.
It does not have a tag, but it's made to the standards I would expect from Ralph Lauren, and it has the Conmar repro zip type used on RL jackets. It has one inside pocket (right side) and the lining is a nice soft corduroy with leather along the bottom.
