Lovely. The leather-patches/mending at the rear bottom don't diminish the beauty of the first jacket.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Agreed - I'd like to see a close-up of those... I'm fascinated by well-made repairs. I think it's the idea that something is worth repairing, and not part of the contemporary disposable society that appeals.
Based on my reading, leather flight jackets appeared to have been nonissue items in the Luftwaffe and thus were of civilian origin for the most part. As a great many Luftwaffe pilots were posted in France at one time or another it's most likely that their flight jackets were sourced locally.
