I have recently shed a few pounds in weight and have lost a couple of inches around my torso. I’ve picked up a couple of original peacoats (a 1970 and a 1949) in a 42/42R.
Consequently, this beautiful Ralph Lauren ‘Polo’ peacoat (my go to winter coat) is now way too big in an XL and is for sale.
If you prefer the older pattern of peacoat then the only options are an original, the very expensive offerings of Real McCoys and Buzz Rickson, or the RL coat.
This is a very warm Melton wool coat with 10 button fastening (8 showing) the buttons are patterned after the original with an anchor surrounded by 12 stars and a subtle RL.
The coat has both corduroy lined handwarmer pockets and two flapped hip pockets. There is one interior chest pocket and a waist ticket pocket.
The throat latch is fastened under the collar.
Exterior is in excellent unmarked condition, and the lining is clean and stain/odour free. There is a tiny hole to the lining near the rear vent.

Chest (fastened) 24.5 inches (62 cm)
Shoulders 21 inches (53.5 cm)
Sleeves around outer edge 23 inches (58.5 cm)
Armpit to cuff 15 inches (1.5 inch hem to be let down)
