g-1 jacket

my father is looking for a g-1 jacket with out the wide wind flap.
does any company make them wth out them.....to me the the wind flap is to wide when you do not zipper the jacket up......i think the jacket looks nice with out it***

LL Bean makes a G-1 copy without the wind flap. Theirs is insulated with wool fleece and a real mouton collar. It's a warm jacket.

It is my experience to have found that some G-1 jackets were made with wide wind flaps as compared to others. Not sure that you will ever find an original Mil Spec G-1 without a wind flap. However, I see them from time to time with those wind flaps having been removed.

Alot of guys I know who have G-1s tend to cut the top portion of the windflap off, rather than remove the whole bit. Wee bit above the "USN" perforations.
