Echter Mayser "Hut Seidl", 59cm, Crown 6 inches Open, Brim 2 3/8 inches probably early 1950s. Overall a fantastic hat made especially for Hut Seidl München.

The brim detail is what catches my eye first then the lines. One great looking hat!

Rheinhut Superior "Wildleder", 59cm probably mid to later 1950s. The felt color, finish and hand are fantastic. It's a sporty mix of Dress and Trachten Hat styles. Rheinische Hutfabrik was located in Neersen, Germany which is close by Düsseldorf.

The shop "A. Keudel" in Hagen that sold the hat was originally a hat factory. (1902)

The color is fantastic. Love the brim detail color. I'm not too fond of the "rope" hat bands but this one is outstanding.

This one is another find from last week, but I haven't posted it before. It's on its way to the US as we post. Hückel fedora in grey (grau). Size 58 with the brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the pinch. It's a Hückel Welheim one with a really nice ribbon and bow treatment. No label inside the hat, but there is writing on the inside sweatband.

Not only are the ribbon and bow beautiful but so is the color.

There's no real reason why I should post this hat here, except that almost all of my chamois, antilope or wildleder finished hats are of German manufacture. And they did make an awful lot of hats under a wide variety of brand names. This one I picked up yesterday as a replacement for a Peschel I sold recently that was slightly too big for me (and didn't get any wear because of that). It's not a complete match but it comes close enough and it does fit me better. Diana antilope, size 56 in brown. Bound brim at 6,5 cm and crown 10 cm at the pinch. No label inside the hat. My guess would be late fifties to mid sixties.

The ribbon stands out and the felt looks great.

Very nice Hückel Stefan. I'm really liking that ribbon treatment. A little steam will smooth it all out. I guess the Jiffy at the other end can handle it.:)

Looks great! Can't wait to experience it in person.
What is that stamped on the inside of the sweat? Can't quite make it out. Darn lousy eyes...

Gentlemen, thank you. These are fine German made hats. The jiffy should indeed make short work of the creases in the ribbon. As far as the wording on the sweat goes: it's not your eyes, John! The word on the right in yellow says "super" (probably the quality). The other words are "grau" (top word) and the word below that is anyone's guess, but could be "manhattan"?

Hi Stefan! Of Course, but nothing special or worth to show it. There are so many hats which looks like a other hat I have, that is only boring to show it! You know what I mean. The second is that the weather plays a game with us. Rain, dry and ice cold, Snow and so on. Today I was in Wuppertal at a University fleamarket but no hat crossed my way! [emoji16]

I know what you. I usually have to wade through what seems like a sea of black hats (Maysers more often than not) to find something special!

Very nice Mayser. Great proportions and great looking finishing too. Nice catch.
Just arrived. Echter Mayser probably late 50's or early 60's? Love the feel of the felt. It's firm and malleable.

Congrats! I think you are right about the dating. Probably more very late 50s.
