That is a really nice brown. I also like the ribbon width. Were it not for the stingy brim, and had I any money, I would have offered large money to acquire that hat.

Wow, that is a hirsute Huckel! Is the hat treated to be waterproof, or is it waterproof based on the thickness of the fur felt? The Habig is very nice, too!

Thanks! I think the waterproofing is something like the Eulan Bayer thing. The Habig has the modern look but still nice felt and good construction. They still made nice hats in 1980s but closed shop around 1989.

Steve, that hat is going in my top 10 directory. Can you tell me anything about it? Are the white hairs indicative of beaver fur?

I am pretty sure its all rabbit / hare. I think they mixed in some long hairs to give it a natural look. This hat is fun to wear.

Thanks! That is a style hat that appears unique to Germany. It is a mix of Homburg and City styles. Brim up more formal and brim down more casual.
