Here are photos of the museum Hat exhibit. Looks like they have some valuable information on the old Wet Brushed Velour processes at S. & J. Fraenkel Wien. Another place I need to visit.

Pelschel (Dinkelsbühl) Hut, 59cm probably late 1950s. Very nice Silver Gray Velour for a later time period. This one was made for retailer Carl Zeumer Zum PFAU (Peacock).

What a wonderful color and texture!

O.F. Hess - K. Masik Vereinigte Haar- und Woll - Hutfabriken (United Fur and Wool Hat Factories) Husinec Böhmerwald (November 17, 1942)

This envelop is from the same time period as the O.F. Hess and K. Misik hats from my July 2015 Czech find.

I've always hoped to contribute to this thread, and this may qualify. We made another visit to the Derby Line Inn, a German cuisine restaurant/inn. As a hung my hat on the end of a curtain rod, the barkeeper was quick to tell me not to forget it, and motioned to the collection shown here as evidence of forgotten lids from past customers. WHO could possibly forget the one with the blue and white cord-ribbon?!!

I bet someone here can tell us what the German name for this type of hat is. But I'm sure this is not what Steve had in mind when he started this thread.

It's just a very rustic style + commercialized Bavarian Alpine Tracthen hat. The blue and white are for Bavaria (see Oktoberfest -> München).

Nicely and funny Oktoberfest hats guys - That is now only a style for this Event- in the past, this style hats are definitely used on farms with sheeps and so on!
