The Form is impressive with a taller Crown and less side tapper. The component quality and workmanship are excellent which is always the case with P. & C. Habig Wien. The overall condition is very good especially for its age.
The Worker's "Arb." surname appears to be "Makovsky". I will have to see if I can find something about him.
Starting in 1925 there is an Anton Makovsky listed as "Hutmacher / Hat Maker, XVI/1 Koppstr. 64" in "Adolph Lehmann's general housing indicator: along with trade and business address book for d. k.k. Imperial capital and royal seat of Vienna and surroundings. 1925"

Some excellent sleuthing there, Steve! You should consider a deerstalker.Emil Seeling Neudamm, Wholeseller. I purchased the Hat** almost 3 years ago but I wasn't able to make the connection at that time which has happened before. Neudamm was part of Germany up to 1945 / the end of WWII when it became part of Poland and was renamed Dębno. Neudamm / Dębno is a fairly short distance from Guben, Germany which was the largest Hat and Felt production center in Germany up to WWII. Based on the Hat's Paper Label the Factory that made it was probably Berlin Gubener Hutfabrik / Factory so it makes sense that a wholesaler would be in the same general area.

"Dogma" "Striegau", Wool, 57 cm, possibly 1930s maybe later 1920s and most likely made by Berlin - Gubener Hutfabrik. This is based on the Paper Label type and that "Striegau" was located in Germany but after WWII Strzegom, Poland. The Hat was sold by Hut Köhl Kehl am Rhein** which is directly across the Rhein from Stroudsburg. The Wool felt is very pliable with high gloss. The overall condition is very good and the Crown Tip Patch is still in place. The "Dogma" brand / mark is very unique. I enjoy finding these old German Wool Soft Felt Hats and this one is a great example.

German Hat Maker's Seal, "J. W." initials with a Top Hat and Lions possibly mid to late 19th Century. Not sure who the Hat Maker** is but the seller thought it could a Hat Maker from Bavaria/Allgäu area.
** I found a Hat Maker "Ludwig Weigt" from Deustch Kralupp (today Karlovarsky kraj northwest region of Czechia / Czech Republic) in a 1879 trade listing but no way to verify this is the same "L. W." on the Seal.

6. Price reductions for orders of at least K 30.- 2%, of more than K 60.- 2% and free packaging. If a larger number of hats of the same shape and color are delivered, separate prices are quoted.
7. Hat repairs are well done at the price of K 2-4.
8. Unstamped letters will not be accepted.
9. Quite clear name signature is requested to avoid unpleasant situations and complaints for all correspondence.

Put on a well-fitting hat and look in the mirror at how low it sits on your head. If you now measure at this point using a piece of paper or a centimeter tape, the result is the correct head measurement and, if you follow these instructions closely, it is completely impossible for a soft hat not to fit.
Take a well-fitting stiff hat and use a centimeter tape or paper strip to measure the length from a to b and the width from c to d of the inner hat space, as shown in the drawing below, at the point where the forehead leather meets the felt is sewn on, very precisely. If you don't have a stiff hat at hand, you can also measure a well-fitting soft hat, but you have to take into account that especially when measuring the width from c to d the shape of the oval has to match the head , is not warped.
To be on the safe side, you also want to specify the round measurement for stiff hats as for soft hats.
