I have one of the Goodwear jackets with the hookless Waldes zip Ike this one (Security Aviation Togs, first A-2 contract). The zipper is not bad just needs a little mental retraining as it does not work quite like a modern zipper, or even a WWII one for that matter. If you work it properly, there's no problem. You just can't zip it in a hurry or you might have it not mesh properly.
