Not too long ago I picked up a GW Poughkeepsie that‘s now my daily driver and this jacket is too nice not to see use. John notes the original contract was likely done by Knopf, though he lists it as “no-name”. It’s an excellent contract with quite a few unique details and this is a brilliant replica.
The jacket is made of Shinki horsehide and labeled a size 44 with these measurements:
P2P - 24.25”
Front down wind flap - 24”
Back from base of collar to bottom of knits - 26”
Shoulders - 19.75”
Sleeve following the curve from top of shoulder seam to end of knit cuff - 27”
It is pictured on John’s website: https://www.goodwearleather.com/photos/18246P_Knopf_No2_44/
It’s still in practically unworn condition with near perfect knits (one tiny snag on the mid back waistband). There is a very tiny surface nick in the leather near the end of the left sleeve that is hard to see. Finally, if you look closely at the back in John’s pictures you’ll see a hide scar that I’ve circled in my photo. The leather is strong and there Is no impact on the jacket but I wanted to highlight that it’s there. This really is a beautiful jacket in great condition, but I like to be as accurate as I can. It’s $950 (PayPal friends and family) shipped in the US or if international, I’ll split the shipping cost with the buyer.
