And I thought your Dustbowl looked great! You have the patience of the old dude played by Keye Luke in Kung Fu, but wow, what a jacket!
Leather, quality, stitching, pattern - everything says the very same word: exceptional! Sincerely congrats Boyo!
Truly Amazing there in every respect! As beautiful insude as it is on the outside. John has been great in all my dealings with him, I would not hesitate to order from him in the future. Have a great Christmas!! That jacket will sure help
@dubpynchon , @AeroFan_07 , @Lebowski , @regius , @Imuricecreamman, @Benny Holiday @handymike, @jonesy86 , @Sloan1874 , @navetsea ,@SinSir ,@Graemsay ,@El Marro , @Superfluous, @Alexlutov , @Mysteryo ... Thanks All for the kind comments.. I couldn't ask for a better ending to this saga..
Glad to see you finally got your jacket! Seems like all the noise we made here had some good results.
Haha.. he never mentioned it and I never brought it up so I don't know if he reads anything here..but the jacket turned out perfect, so no more complaints from me..
I say you have too high of an option of any influence a loud minority here on the FL had on Boyo receiving his Hercules. Just a normal course of business for Goodwear.
It wouldn't make sense for him to mention it, he has nothing to gain from doing so. Good to see that you had a good outcome. You really deserve it
For sure there is a back story that I’ve left out, plus the info we’ve all heard about and his documented family issues.. but in the end John made good by me. I don’t think the current wait list is 6 years.. but we need a volunteer to get on the queue and let us know.
John had to look after his mother, who was severely ill for several years, and then had to sort out her estate after she passed. Having seen my father do this, I know how much of a burden it is, and so I think that he deserves some slack. Then there was the sage of the buttonhole machine... I've been in the queue longer than @Boyo. I chased John up just before Christmas, so hopefully he'll get back after the holidays.
That's a great story, but I don't get the fascination for this jacket. Is this really objectively better than Aero jackets that only has a 1-2 month wait? Or is the fact that it's hard to obtain makes it feel more special?
Bulldozer, I own two new Good Wear jackets which John made for me and two used ones that I picked up on eBay. I am very fond of them and I hold them in somewhat higher esteem than I do my four Aero jackets. Having said that I would not say that they are head and shoulders above the Aero’s I own and I think it is a waste of time to worry about such things. When I went out for my afternoon walk today I was wearing a Good Wear, when I go walking tomorrow I will probably be wearing an Aero...
