Same S***, Different Century/Decade

To paraphrase Kipling -

For it's Johnny this, an' Johnny that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country," when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Johnny this, an' Johnny that, an' anything you please;
But Johnny ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Johnny sees!

I have a great idea. Why don't the companies that make large profits on products making unlicensed use of the Ghurka name (e.g. handbags, luggage, fashion shorts, etc. etc.) make a donation to the Ghurka Welfare Trust (http://www.gwt.org.uk/) for reach product sold?

A pizza chain in the UK makes a small donation to the Veneziana Fund (see http://www.pizzaexpress.com/assets/downloads/venezianagrants.doc) with each Veneziana pizza it sells.

At least it's a token ethical gesture, but I feel a similar thing could make a big difference to the lives of poor people in Nepal.

Just my opinion.

If you look at the top of the WW2 section, you'll see a petition you can sign to support the Gurkhas if you are a UK resident.

Please take the time to sign it, and write your MP!

Thank you!

TOP OF ROOM (STICKY)

As Rufus quite rightly said, if you are interested in furthering the cause of the Gurkha Regiment, please refer to the 'sticky' at the TOP of this room to see how you can formally add your name to the petition to No.10 Downing Street (British PM). THANKS.
